Foam and honeycomb absorbers are the perfect choice for lightweight, broadband attenuation of unwanted microwave and electromagnetic interference and for Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction. ARC Technologies designs and manufactures a complete range of these products and routinely develops custom solutions to fit customer requirements.

The product range includes

  • Single-layer lossy foam absorbers
  • Multi-layer foam broadband absorbers
  • Reticulated foam absorbers
  • Reticulated-Convoluted foam absorbers
  • Honeycomb absorbers in planar and pyramidal configurations

Foam absorbers utilize carbon-loaded binder substrates to create the optimal loss mechanism. Many configurations are available to cover a wide range of frequencies. In addition to excellent far-field insertion loss or reflection loss performance, ARC foam absorbers are an ideal solution for near-field mode suppression and surface current attenuation in enclosures. Weather resistant coatings and weatherproof coverings are available. Finishing options include precision cutting, self-adhesive and optional ground planes.

Honeycomb absorbers are fabricated from a range of materials including phenolic, high-temperature aramid and fiberglass. Honeycomb is especially useful when light weight, structural rigidity and high power handling capability are required.
