When a fast moving load impacts the end of the plunger rod, fluid ahead of the piston can escape through the mesh work of ports in the tool steel cylinder. As the piston travels down the cylinder the ports are shut off decelerating the moving load. Your machinery can run faster than ever before--trouble free!
