Certification

The Supply-Chain Council is enabling individuals to demonstrate their skills in using the SCOR reference model in supply chain improvement initiatives and companies can assess the skills and competencies of personnel and recruits, and evaluate the effectiveness of training.

The SCOR Professional (SCOR-P) Certification program creates a consistent global standard for excellence in using SCOR. For students the Supply Chain Council and universities in Europe, Latin America and the United States are working together to develop SCOR/S certification.

SCOR Professional certification

SCOR/P certification establishes in depth knowledge of the SCOR model and methods. The certification path includes the following entry requirements and steps:

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in supply chain,
  • SCOR Framework class (2 days),
  • SCOR Implementation class (2 days),
  • SCOR/P exam.

The examination needs to take place within 1 year after the classes. There are no renewal or refresh requirements. Check the Education schedule to find a workshop that meets your schedule or contact us to discuss any training opportunities in your company or city. More information: Steps to certification.

Employee benefits

SCOR Certification demonstrates a person's knowledge and capability as tested by an independent, third-party organization. Like other credentials, a person who has achieved a SCOR Certification conveys to global organizations that he or she possesses a valuable set of supply-chain skills.

Watch the interview with Greg Grehawick, SCOR/P.

"I'm a certified SCOR Professional. There are a number of folks out there professing to be supply chain experts, but they don't understand the SCOR model. My SCOR/P credential identifies me as someone who can help my clients work through supply chain scenarios using SCOR and answer their question accurately and correctly."

Employer benefits

Creating an in-house pool of SCOR-Certified Professionals can help a company dramatically raise its proficiency at supply chain improvement. All supply chain professionals who have earned the certification will possess common concepts, processes, terminology, and metrics, all of which are critical to standardizing supply chain processes across a large, global organization.

Like the SCOR model itself, SCOR Certification is based on real-world techniques for measuring and managing a global supply chain, not on concepts and abstractions. SCOR-Certified professionals can be deployed throughout the organization to tackle strategic supply chain issues. Certification also provides a practical method for assessing the skills and competencies of your personnel and recruits, and a method for evaluating the effectiveness of training. Encouraging employees to achieve certification demonstrates your investment in their educational development, aiding recruitment and retention.

SCOR Scholar certification

SCOR/S certification aims to introduce the value of SCOR and knowledge of the SCOR model to students. SCOR/S certification is new and will be launched at Clemson University in Clemson, SC. SCOR Scholar certification training will be offered during the Spring 2009 semester as an integral part of the undergraduate supply chain management course. A total of 40 students will have access to this initiative.
