The SlideRail Square Transfer™ (SST) concept is unlike any other material handling system in the finishing business.

Parts index along a pair of low maintenance slide rails rather than a traditional chain conveyor. Racks of product suspended from load bars are lowered into and raised out of several process tanks simultaneously before moving on to the next stages in unison.

All paint system components - cleaning, pretreatment, application and curing - are contained in one compact unit and managed by Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).

Because parts index vertically into process stages on the SST, immersion treatment can be accomplished in tanks only slightly larger than the maximum work envelope. This greatly reduces tank charging costs for water, chemicals and paint for electrocoating applications.

Flexibility is a strong point of SST technology, as each system is built from the floor up to meet individual customer needs. Parts as small as screws and as large as truck bodies can be processed to strict specifications.

High volume electrocoating, powder coating, liquid spray painting, cleaning, pretreatment and heat treating operations can all be reliably handled by Therma-Tron-X SST systems.

The SST Advantage

SlideRail Square Transfer systems offer a number of advantages over traditional monorail systems of equal capacity. Among these are:

  • Exceptional reduction in floor space
  • Significantly higher load limit
  • Modular construction for faster installation
  • Ability to load/unload from stationary conveyor positions
  • Immersion pretreatment capability
  • Lower water, chemical, utilities and maintenance costs
