About Lead Acid Batteries

Lead acid batteries are used for starting, lighting, and ignition (SLI) services on automobiles and trucks. In addition, lead acid batteries provide power for automobiles, forklifts, submarines, and almost all other motive vehicles. A lead acid battery is made up of plates, lead, and lead oxide with a 35% sulfuric acid and 65% water electrolyte solution.  Lead acid batteries represent almost 60% of all batteries sold worldwide.

Products & Services Related to Lead Acid Batteries
Battery Packs and Assemblies
Battery packs are constructed from two or more individual cells or batteries.
Disposable (Primary) Batteries
Disposable primary batteries are replaced once the energy supply is depleted. Their energy is produced when the materials within the battery react and are exhausted.
Industrial Batteries, All Types
Industrial batteries translate chemical energy into electricity.
Lithium Batteries
Lithium batteries are primary batteries with a lithium anode.  They are disposable.
Rechargeable (Secondary) Batteries
Rechargeable batteries or secondary batteries contain active materials that can be regenerated by charging. When the energy produced by rechargeable batteries drops below optimum efficiency, secondary batteries may be recharged in a couple of ways, depending upon their construction.
