Functions
| |
Your choices are...
| |
Arithmetic Functions
The counter / timer can be programmed to perform simple or complex arithmetic functions. Arithmetic functions can include sum, difference, multiply, square root, etc.
| |
Controller
A controller has outputs to regulate or control equipment based on sensor inputs or preset limits.
| |
Batch Counter
Batch counters count up only and are usually presettable so that when the required number of batches or pieces has been completed, the process can automatically stop.
| |
Count Totalizer
Generally, a counter that can accumulate counts but cannot control a machine. Some totalizers are presettable, but their primary function is to keep track of counts over a relatively long period of time.
| |
Event Counter
A unit that counts the occurrences of a certain condition.
| |
Preset
Preset counters (or predetermining counters) can control an external circuit when its counted total matches user-entered preset limits. Electronic models are the most versatile and offer high performance at a low price. Mechanical and electrical types offer simplicity of installation and operation. Preset mode is a counting mode where counting is generally subtractive. The counter resets or auto recycles to the preset count. When the counter counts to zero, the output associated with the preset number occurs.
| |
Pulse Counter
A counter used to count a momentary sharp change in current and voltage. A count pulse is a square wave, or a rectangular wave. Pulses are digital signals; the voltage or current is either "on" or "off."
| |
Delay Cycle
When voltage is applied to the input terminals, the time delay cycle starts. At the end of the preset time delay, the relay is energized.
| |
Delay On Timer
Once the timer has received its input signal, a predetermined period of time will pass before the output is energized. At the end of the time delay the contacts open or close. If the contact is normally open (NO) the load energizes at the end of the time delay. If the contact is normally closed (NC) the load de-energizes after the time delay. Removing power resets the time delay and output. Also called on-delay, delay on make, delay on operate, operate delay, pre-purge delay, and delay on energization.
| |
Delay Off Timer
The timer starts its timing function when the power supply is interrupted. When the power is initially supplied, the output relay contacts react immediately. When the power supply is removed, the output relay contacts remain in the activated position and the time period starts. When the time has elapsed the output relay contacts release. Also called delay on release, delay on break, release delay, post-purge delay, and delay on de-energization.
| |
One Shot Timer
When power is applied to the timer, the contacts change position immediately and remain changed for the set period of time after the timer has received power. After the set period of time has passed, the contacts return to their normal position. May also be called pulse former.
| |
Interval Delay Timer
This is opposite to delay on, in that the relay is energized immediately on application of the supply or closure of switch input and goes off at the end of the period. Interval delay may also be referred to as delay pulse.
| |
Recycle Timer / Percentage Timer
In the recycle timer circuit, the closing of the control switch starts the cycling function. The load continues to turn ON and OFF at regular time intervals as long as the control switch is closed. The cycling function stops when the control switch is open. This function is sometimes called a flasher, or pulse generator.
| |

| |
Position Indicator

| |
Ratemeters (Tachometers)

| |
