This technology has the potential to reduce the cost of energy and further cut the emission of acid-rain gases in utility and industrial applications. In addition to minimizing emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, combined-cycle PCFB technology permits the cost-effective firing of fuels that otherwise could not be used in an environmentally acceptable manner.
