   Air
 
     Air bearings are a very low friction bearing that rides on a cushion of air.
 
   Flat Ball Cage
 
     Flat ball cage linear bearings are non-recirculating or recirculating bearing design where the balls are trapped in a frame that spaces them at equal distance. These balls ride on a rail and are usually lubricated.
 
   Bushing, Ball
 
     Bushing, ball bearings are similar to a bushing in construction but have rows of balls to reduce friction and increase stiffness, accuracy, and smoothness. The bushing may be of open or closed construction. Open bushings ride on continuously or intermittently supported round shafts, while closed bushings ride on end supported shafts. Several different types and options are available including recirculating ball, non-recirculating ball, linear only motion, rotary / linear motion, self-aligning, and adjustable preload.
 
   Needle Roller Cage
 
     Caged needle bearings are low friction, high load bearings in a composite cage. A common industry designation for these is M/V or N/O type linear bearings.
 
   Cam Follower
 
     A cam follower is a wheel on an axle and that wheel runs on bearings. Cam followers offer high speed, rigid operation, and a long working life.
 
   Crossed Roller

     Roller and cross roller bearings are used on linear ways where straightness and accuracy are critical. The trade off is in loading capability.
 
   Guide Wheel
 
     A low cost, versatile, and rugged alternative to traditional linear bearings. They can be used on linear or circular rails or guides.
 
   Hydrostatic / Hydrodynamic
 
     A linear hydrostatic bearing works much like an air bearing. The bearing body rides on a thin film of oil or water that provides for near frictionless movement.
 
   Plain / Journal

     Journal bearings consist of a split cylindrical shell of hard, strong metal held in a rigid support and an inner cylindrical part of soft metal, which holds a rotating shaft. The primary shaft support is the lubricating fluid, usually oil.
 
   Linear Motion Guide
 
     Linear motion guides are linear profiled rails that have a set of mating bearings that travel along the rail.
 
   Flat Roller Cage
 
     Flat roller cage bearings are similar to crossed roller bearings except that the axes to all of the rollers are parallel instead of crossed. They consist of a flat cage of rollers with the axes all in line with each other. They can be used in a set of rails with a precision v-guide or between two flat surfaces.
 
   Linear Roller
 
     Linear roller bearings are a set of circulating roller bearings that ride on a round or flat guide. These bearings have extremely heavy load capacities.
 
   Spline Bushing / Ball Spline
 
     A spline bushing is a linear bearing with contact grooves that match those in a mating shaft.  Bushing can be of plain bearing or ball spline design.  A ball spline bearing has balls that contact grooves in a matching spline shaft on at least four sides, depending on the number of splines. The balls recirculate as the bearing moves along the guide.
 
   Other / Proprietary

     Dynamic load capacity is the axial and radial static forces multiplied by dynamic factors combine to form the equivalent dynamic bearing load.
