   Roof / Ceiling Ventilator

Fan has mounting brackets or flanges specifically for ceiling installation or roof exhaust.

   Stand Alone (Freestanding) Fan

Stand alone or freestanding fans do not require additional support to run.  They are supported by their own structure.

   Wall / Panel Mount

Fan has mounting brackets or flanges specifically for wall installation or exhaust.

   Other

Other unlisted or specialty mounting arrangement.

   Dirty Air / Gas

Fan / blower designed for heavy industrial airstreams, erosive gases or airstreams with particulates.

   Forced Draft

Forced draft refers to the movement of air under pressure. Forced draft fans "force" air.

   Induced Draft

Induced draft refers to the movement of air by means of an induced partial vacuum. Induced draft fans "draw" air.

   Light Solids / Dust

Fan / blower designed for dust collection, grinding-booth exhaust, scrubber exhaust, and other light dust media.

   Material Handling

Material handling fans are used to move bulk solids in material handling applications.  A common material handling application is pneumatic conveying.

   Powders

Fan / blower is designed for material handling such as granulated solids and powders.

   Smoke

Fan / blower designed for smoke exhaust.

   Ventilation / Exhaust

The fan's primary function is ventilation or exhausting

   Other

Any other material / gas not covered by the above options.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Material

   Your choices are...

   Aluminum

The fan is constructed primarily from aluminum.

   Cast Iron

The fan is constructed primarily of cast iron.

   Composite

The fan is constructed primarily from composite materials.  Composite materials are often fiber reinforced plastic or fiberglass.  Fiberglass is a composite material made by embedding glass fibers in a polymer matrix.

   Plastic / Polymer

The fan is constructed primarily from plastic or polymer.

   Steel

The fan is constructed primarily from steel.  Most of the steel produced in the world is carbon steel.

   Stainless Steel

The fan is constructed primarily from stainless steel.

   Other

     Other unlisted material of construction.

Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
Fan / Blower Type

   Fan / Blower Type:
   Your choices are...

   Forward Curved (Centrifugal)

Blades are curved forward in the direction of rotation; requires low speed to move air.

   Airfoil (Centrifugal)

Highly efficient centrifugal blower / fan; name is derived from the shape of blades.

   Backward Inclined (Centrifugal)

Blades are curved backward from the direction of rotation; the blades are flat and of single thickness.

   Radial Blade (Centrifugal)

Typically utilized for material handling (e.g., dusts, light powders etc.) due to blade strength; blades are radial to the fan shaft ("paddle" wheel).

   Radial Tip (Centrifugal)

Similar to radial blade; the blade tips are radial to the fan shaft. The blades themselves gradually slope towards the direction of wheel rotation.

   In-line (Centrifugal)

Cylindrical housing where wheel is generally an airfoil or backward inclined blower / fan.

   Propeller / Panel

     Basic propeller type fan design.

   Tubeaxial

Cylindrical housing with propeller type fan.

   Vaneaxial

Cylindrical housing with outside diameter of blade tips fitting closely within housing - typically highly efficient with high-pressure capacity.

   Other

     Any unlisted or proprietary configuration.

   Drive Options:
   Your choices are...

   Direct Drive

Electric motor is coupled directly to fan / blower shaft for direct power transmission.

   Belt Drive

Fan / blower is powered by belts and sheaves or pulleys. Typically one sheave will be mounted on an electric motor and the other on the fan / blower, and the two are connected by belts.

Fan / Blower Class (if Applicable):      A numerical description of the class of construction for the fan. There are three classes recognized by the Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA). Typically, the larger the class number, the greater minimum performance and price as well.
   Your choices are...

   Class I

Fan / blower meets Class I AMCA requirements.

   Class II

Fan / blower meets Class II AMCA requirements.

   Class III

Fan / blower meets Class III AMCA requirements.

Features

   Explosion Proof?

Motor housing is explosion proof to withstand an explosion of a specified gas or vapor which may occur within it or the housing is designed to prevent the ignition of the specified gas or vapor surrounding the machine by sparks which may occur within the machine casing. Sometimes abbreviated as TEFC-XP (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled, Explosion Proof).
