Girard Rubber Corporation is a family company - A bit of history:
Girard Rubber Corporation's founder, Michael Girard, began as a purchasing agent for France under the Marshall Plan at the end of WW II. Europe needed to rebuild, the U.S. provided the materials. They concentrated on rubber products - domestic vendors were expensive and chaotic. They began with a partner in Japan and they fought the negative post-war images of Japan and Japanese products. Over the following decades Girard Rubber Corporation has cultivated relationships with partners in Brazil, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China.
