MICRO WATERJET LLC introduces a new service utilizing Abrasive-Waterjet-Micro-Machining (AWJMM®) technology, which can offer superior results in applications that other established technologies can not compete against.
Key Data:
- Kerf width: 0.2 mm (0.0078”)
- Positioning accuracy: ± 3 µm (0.0001”)
- Cutting accuracy: ± 0.01 mm (0.0004”)
(Depending on material and thickness)
- Maximum work piece size: 1000 mm x 600 mm (40” x 24”)
Global industrial manufacturing continues to focus on the progression toward miniaturization, which has rapidly become the newest development in modern cutting technology. Machines and their components have become much smaller and lighter, constantly raising the demands for manufacturing fine precision parts.
With production of the smallest of components, conventional manufacturing methods are extremely limited. For example, many materials react negatively to the heat effects of thermal procedures such as laser cutting. And other methods, such as micro-milling or stamping, do not offer the optimal results the customer expects. Even with the overlapping of these established processing technologies there are often limitations that can not be resolved, until now.
Micro Waterjet LLC uses the Abrasive-Waterjet-Micro-Machining (AWJMM®) technology on an unlimited range of materials. Synthetic materials, non-ferrous metals, steel and chrome alloys, titanium, as well as composite materials, carbon and glass can be precision cut as easily as wood, granite, rubber or fiber composite materials. |
