Geo. T. Schmidt, Inc. has been a worldwide leader in permanent marking technology and services for over a century. Schmidt is an ISO 9001:2000 certified designer and manufacturer of marking tools and marking machines with a broad range of products including, fiber and diode laser marking machines, dot peen stylus marking machines, electric pin marking systems, hand-held portable engraving systems, pneumatic and hydraulic roll, rotary and press marking machines, as well as, steel marking tools and fixturing.
Schmidt also offers its high precision contract CNC machine shop. Through its sister company Precise Machine, Schmidt now specializes in close tolerance CNC machining of thin walled parts, motor, pump and generator housings, end bells and electrical connectors, high speed precision machining of electronic and medical PCB enclosures, heat sinks, aluminum castings and forgings. They have the ability to work with conventional materials and exotic alloys, from steel and aluminum to titanium and magnetic steels.
Schmidt Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Integration Capabilities
Their in-house design, engineering and manufacturing departments allow Schmidt Design to completely control almost every aspect of your marking application, from concept to delivery, to installation and start-up support. Schmidt has full Unigraphics and ACAD capabilities in house and does not farm out any design services. Integration and custom capabilities include electrical, mechanical and software applications, and are available on all product lines. Their customer service department is available Monday through Friday and the technical support team is available 24/7.
Machining Capacities and Service
On Schmidt's shop floor they have three and four axis CNC machining centers with travels up to 40” x 20” x 20”, CNC lathes, automatic grinders, a full array of CNC turning capabilities, from .250" to 12.50" diameters and beyond. They also offer high speed machining capability up to 200 IPM feed rates enables them to machine in minutes what used to take hours.
