Gas Density and Specific Volume Calculator
The Gas Density and Specific Volume Calculator calculates the density and specific volume of gas based on a modified version of the Ideal Gas Law:
where:
P is the absolute pressure of the gas,
V is the volume of the gas,
n is the number of moles of gas,
T is the absolute temperature of the gas,
R is the universal gas constant
The Ideal Gas Law assumes the existence of a gas with no volume and no interactions with other molecules. Therefore,
the Compressibility Factor (Z) can be used
for a slight alteration to the ideal gas law to account for real gas behavior. Therefore the equation used for these
calculations is:

air, ammonia, argon, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, chlorine, hydrogen, natural gas, nitrogen, oxygen, propane and
steam are all provided. |
