Vents and Venting Systems

About Vents and Venting Systems

Vents and venting systems are individual products or complete systems that allow for the exchange of air from or within an enclosed area. Categories include attic vents or roof vents, foundation vents, ventilators, exhausters, and building-wide fans. There are two main types of attic vents: attic exhaust vents and attic intake vents. Like roof vents, these vents and venting systems are designed to regulate temperature and humidity. They differ in terms of size, cost, power source, and materials of construction. Foundation vents carry similar product specifications, and can help prevent damp-rot that is expensive to repair and which may attract termites. Ventilators and exhausters are vents and venting systems that may be designed specifically for commercial, residential, or industrial applications. Specialty products include belt-driven roof vents, eve vents, gable-end vents, hooded roof vents, roof exhausters, roof ventilators, and soffit vents.
