Pushbutton enclosures are either rectangular or wedge-shaped (sloped front or top surface) and have cutouts for mounting pushbuttons. They are designed to protect personnel from accidental injury and to prevent the ingress of environmental contaminants such as dust and water. Pushbutton enclosures are rectangular or T-shaped and may include a sloped or slanted surface. They are made from a variety of materials and available in many different sizes, sealing configurations, and mounting styles. Length, width, and height are important dimensions. Inside length, inside width, inside height, and sloped surface length are also important considerations. Because some pushbutton enclosures can be mounted in several different ways, suppliers recommend viewing product pictures or diagrams to determine which dimensions refer to length and which dimensions refer to width. Most pushbutton enclosures are mounted on walls or pedestals.
