Electrical insulation and dielectric materials surround and protect electrical conductors such as wires and cables. They also prevent unwanted current flow or leakage. An electrical insulator or dielectric material resists the flow of electrically charged particles. Electrical insulation material is available in a number of forms, including sheets, sleeves, and tubes. Typically, an electrical insulation supplier provides provide many different types of electrical materials. Examples include magnet wire, wire and cable, insulating films and papers, rigid laminates, sleeves and tubing, and pressure sensitive tapes. Electrical insulation material can be made from or contain fish paper, glass base epoxy binder, polyester film, reinforced phenolic linen, Nylon 6/6, or Teflon. Teflon is a registered trademark of DuPont.
