About Ethernet Cables
Ethernet cables are designed to support Ethernet, a standard protocol for the connection of computers in a local area network (LAN). There are two basic types of products: bulk cables and cable assemblies. Ethernet bulk cables are sold by the foot or in reels. Ethernet cable assemblies are collections of wires or cables that are banded into a single unit with connectors on at least one end. Specifications for Ethernet cables include Ethernet type, application or end-use, cable construction, features and standards, and rated temperature.
