About Foam, Honeycomb and Core Materials
Foam, honeycomb and composite core materials are plastics, ceramics or metals containing closed or open internal cells or pores for composites, tooling, modeling, insulation or floatation. Foam, honeycomb and composite core materials are constructed with a core material that is covered with a flexible skin. They are configured to handle particular stresses during use, such as the tension and compression on the skins and the shear on the core during bending.
