Flange mounted bearings are used when a shaft axis is perpendicular to the bearing mounting surface. Available in 2, 3, or 4-hole configurations, flange mounted bearings provide a method of accurate mounting fits and load support. 2-bolt flanged bearings have a diamond shaped flange with 2 mounting holes. Most 3-bolt flanged bearings have a circular mounting flange with three, equally spaced mounting holes. Other hole configurations, such as an offset pattern, are also available. 4-bolt flanged bearings have a square or round mounting flange with four mounting holes. Selection of the appropriate bearing can be accomplished with knowledge of the shaft size and radial and thrust load requirements.

Products & Services Related to Flange Mounted Bearings
Hanger Bearings
Hanger bearings are used as rotational bearings for drive and screw conveyor shafts that are enclosed with a housing or trough.
Linear Bearings
Linear bearings are used in applications where a component needs to be moved along a straight line with high accuracy.
Pillow Block Bearings
Pillow block bearings are mounted bearings that are used to provide load support for a rotating shaft’s axis.
Plain Bearings and Sleeve Bearings
Plain bearings and sleeve bearings (also referred to as bushings or journal bearings) are used to constrain, guide or reduce friction in rotary or linear applications. They function via a sliding action.
Takeup Bearings
Take-up bearings are primarily used to correctly tension conveyor belts and systems, or to align tracks. They are available in three component types: bearing, frame, and take-up assembly (frame with bearing).
