About Specialty Fasteners
Specialty fasteners and hardware are specialized or proprietary fasteners, fastening hardware, or other fastening products. There are several types of specialty fasteners and hardware. Examples include industrial fasteners, stainless steel fasteners, textile fasteners, snap fasteners, plastic fasteners, automotive fasteners, and Velcro® fasteners. An industrial fastener such as a bolt, nut, and rivet are used to bind construction materials together. A stainless steel fastener is used in construction, plumbing, and the automotive industry. Stainless steel fasteners are also widely used in cars and motorcycles due to their property of maintaining shiny luster over time. A textile fastener is used in the textile industry for manufacturing of textiles and other related products. A snap fastener is commonly used in place of buttons and has become very popular in clothing, travel bags, and folders. Plastic fasteners come in all shapes and sizes and can be used for both general purpose and tailored applications. An automotive fastener is usually meant for use in automobile brakes, engines, transmissions, and chassis applications. A Velcro fastener is used in clothing, shoe, and automotive industries due to its ability to provide a firm bond under tension, which comes apart easily when desired. Other specialty fasteners and hardware are commonly available.
