Power switches are used to apply power to or remove power from instruments such as large-scale factory equipment. Power switches include integrated pull-up resistors and capacitors to minimize board space and cost. Bias winding and burst mode operation are eliminated by a power switch to reduce power consumption to less than 0.1W. Power switches have built-in protection features, such as over-temperature, over-current and active inductive energy clamp to protect against short circuits, stalled motors, and excessive ambient temperature.
